The Digital Nut Slotting Gauge measures the string height on the first fret, the measurements are more accurate, so that you can file your nut depths more accurately. It features a digital indicator with a zero button and inch/mm switch button, accurate to .0005"(0.01mm). Your most accurate measurement is at the first fret, For taking measurements higher up the neck, we recommend the String Action Gauge.
The brass base fits over the strings to rest on the fretboard, it works with most acoustic and electric guitars, mandolins, and banjos. The larger brass base fits bass string spacings. Both have gently arched bottoms to follow most any fretboard radius. The diameter of the indicator mounting hole is 3/8".

I’ve been building guitars for a while and have always guessed at the final setup stages, with varying results. This eliminates guesswork. I tested it on my Gibson sg and improved its playability immensely. It played well before the nut adjustment, now it is amazing.
I’ll start by saying I’m not a luthier. I just wanted an easy way to measure and adjust the nut slot depth accurately and repeatably on my personal guitars. This instrument delivers exactly what I needed. Similar devices are available for twice the money that do the same job. This digital depth gauge is a bargain! Took about a minute to figure out how it works and I was able to get repeatable results. I recommend this digital nut slot gauge.

Bought this base for standard guitars and my dial caliper fits perfectly and the whole unit makes setting string heights MUCH simpler and more accurate than using feeler gauges. Glad I bought it and at such a great price too. Win-Win.
