A squared bottom is always important for the nuts and saddles, it’s hard to keep the nuts or saddles vertically when you hand sanding them, and the poor fit will be a tone problem.
This Nut Saddle Sander is a perfect tool to square the nuts and saddles bottom, easy and fast! Simply put a nut or saddle inside the device and adjust the screws to set the remove amount that you want, sand it on a flat surface with a sandpaper, and in seconds you get the piece squared and flat!
Made of aluminum, brass parts and steel ball bearings. It works for the nut and saddle up to 87mm.
*Each mark on the adjustment equals about 0.1mm (.004").

As a new luthier setting up shop in Northamptonshire, I was keen to test out quality of Elmer saddle jig/sander and was not disappointed. The price point and quality are spot on and very comparable to the high end Stew Mac versions. Very pleased.
Worked perfectly and was a breeze to set height and operate. I used 120 grit paper to sand and was done in two minutes. Great tool!
I just got my saddle sander and used it on my first saddle immediately thereafter. Wow! It’s a really nice really precise tool. It makes it really really easy to (1) make sure that the saddle bottom is completely flat* and (2) make the final adjustments to the height of guitar saddles. What a pleasure it is to decide that I need to take 0.3 mm off the saddle, dial in the change on the tool, and then, a few moments later, I have the exact thing. Really nice.
*If you have a piezoelectric pickup, it is VERY important that the saddle slot of your bridge is completely flat and that your saddle had a very flat surface on the bottom. If you don't sandwich the piezoelectric component between two flat surface, it will not work properly. This tool really helps.
